The quality of silk is the most critical criteria in Zari weaving. Silk allows lovely weaves, is durable, fine and smooth. Raw silk goes through an elaborate treatment for brocades – this task entails great care to ensure that the silk fibers do not weaken or get damaged. Color synchronization plays a vital part in brocade weaving
